DJ GREG HIGNIGHT
Greg Hignight is an Los Angeles-based DJ and promoter, and the co-founder of music collective Tune in Tokyo, launched in 2008. He specializes in J-Pop, K-Pop, City Pop, Kayōkyoku and Indie dance pop. He has also appeared on NHK World programs including J-MELO and Tokyo Kawaii TV. Greg currently produces the Japanese pop event Plastic City, and spins K-Pop with SWITCH at Micky’s in West Hollywood.
DJ TOMMY PEDRINI
Tommy Pedrini is a composer, producer, singer, marimbist, & DJ from Los Angeles who has devoted his life to building bridges between Japanese and American popular music. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, he works as a core composer/producer on the as part of the Mint Potion team, most recently contributing to WayForward’s Vitamin Connection and Cartoon Network’s OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes & Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. Tommy has been DJing with Tune in Tokyo for over a decade and has debuted three different musical productions at TnT events, including his band Cats on Mars. His favorite pulls span a wide range that include vintage Kayokyoku & City Pop, Shibuya-kei, and contemporary J-pop and K-pop.
DJ ALLY
DJ Ally graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with an Honors B.F.A. in Dramatic Writing for Film and Television. Her music specialization is K-Pop, J-Pop J-Urban, and Top 40 Dance. In addition to experience as a club deejay, she is an actress with credits including film and television roles in “The Good Shepherd” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live”. Ally is also one of the founding members of Tune in Tokyo, spinning at residencies with 2nd Street Jazz, RAGE Nightclub and other venues.
DJ DEL
DJ Del was born in a dark room filled with bright lights and bass beats. A long time fixture in LA’s underground club scene, his background includes residencies at seminal LA indie clubs Cafe Bleu and Club Trash, and performances including Giant New Years Eve party. He co-founded Tune in Tokyo in 2008, in addition to LA nightclub events dot.comrade and International Pop Conspiracy. DJ Del can be found rocking a pair of very flashy shoes, and a smoky eye on dance floors from Paris to Shanghai.
DJ DAVE TADA
Dave Tada is a Los Angeles-based DJ and fashion/editorial photographer with a background in a variety of genres including City Pop, Deep House, Atmospheric Drum and Bass and Downtempo. He currently spins with Tune in Tokyo at Plastic City in downtown Los Angeles.
DJ SHOWAPOP!
Leonardo Flores, aka DJ ShowaPOP, is a Southern California-based all-vinyl DJ, promoter and music writer who specializes in Japanese 1960s-1980s Idol, Anisong, City Pop, Group Sounds and Kayōkyoku. He has been featured at Mod’s Mayday (Nagoya, Japan), Super Dimension Convention and currently spins with Tune in Tokyo at Plastic City in downtown Los Angeles. He also hosts the bi-monthly vinyl event Showa Drift.
milkyPRiSM
milkyPRiSM (Chiyoko Yamasato) is a vocalist, pianist, composer/lyricist, and DJ originally from the Tokyo metropolis. Comfortable from classical to pop, she has been bringing the latest J-pop to the club since she first started DJing with the group. In addition to DJing with TnT, milkyPRiSM made her pop vocal debut at one of the earliest Plastic City events, opening the path to her vocals being featured in several game and TV soundtracks. milkyPRiSM aims to create eclectic pop music with her own distinctive voice. Her favorite thing about DJing is creating a moment with the audience, and her go-to sound includes upbeat and positive tracks such as those by Nakata Yasutaka.
